Sirius is in a rather interesting mood, and as undefined and nebulous as that may be, it's actually the best word right now.

He turns on the communicator, because such interesting moods should be shared with everyone.]

I have to say, this rust that's covering everything is not at all attractive.

[He sounds thoughtful, almost curious.]

What, or who, do you think is behind this? The usual culprits, or something else?
