[Sirius is grinning like the cat who ate the canary. Guess where he is, you lot?

He's standing in the Entrance Hall just grinning and trying to resist the urge to laugh. He likes it in the mansion, but there's no place like home. And Hogwarts is home.]

Step right up, everyone! I know you're all just dying to come see a magical castle.

[What is the statute of secrecy, after all?]

I think we're all dying just fine in the magical mansion.

[ Philip is half joking, but the question remains: Why, good sir, should he wish to purchase a product that appears to offer little distinction from the service he currently subscribes to? ]

But you've never seen anything quite like this!

[Come, come, this mansion is unlike any other.]

Besides, I'm sure everyone could use a change of scenery!

[ He doesn't remember anything good ever coming out of something that isn't anything quite like everything else. Change of scenery though? That sounds more like something he could get behind. ]

Fair enough.

[ Taking the last few steps towards the scar he stares into... into a rift that leads to an icy wasteland; cold, abandoned and altogether not at all magical or castle-like. ]

...Er, how do I even get there then?

[Where's your sense of adventure, Philip? If Sirius knew what he was thinking, he'd be pouting right now.

Philip's question catches him up short, though.]

You know, I haven't the foggiest idea!

[ And then Philip remembers more portals on the other side. They should still be there, right? Might as well give it a shot... ]

Right, hang on.

[ Stepping through the dimensional tear and into the icy cold Philip remembers that there's a perfectly good fireplace and tasty scotch back at the mansion... which begs the question why he's wading through the snow and towards a bunch of other portals right now.

He turns the comm device for Sirius to see. Snow, snow, more snow, five or six portals and - surprise! - snow. ]

Any of those look like yours?

[Sirius nods and waves at Philip when he reappears, and he takes a good long look at each of the portals as Philip turns the comm device.

He points to one of them.]

I believe that's the one. Yes, I'm positive it is.

[ Philip glances between the video feed and the portals, trying to figure out which one was even meant. Once that is decided the narration sincerely hopes Sirius did actually mean to send Philip through the right one, but hey, let's just assume the best for now!

One last moment of hesitation before he takes a step through and-- voila, your entrance hall now features a physicist and a free sample of Greenland snow. Philip looks around. ]

It's... bigger than the mansion, at least.

[ That's the awe-inspiring difference between magical mansion and magical ~castle~ for you. ]

A magical castle? Is that where you are from? [ That is pretty "fairytale", she thinks. And awesome. How could she resist? ]

Of course it is!

[It's his school to be precise, but it's all the same to him!]

You want to see it?

Yes, please! [ She takes a look at the scenery behind him, the magnificent staircase and the wall littered with frames, and hesitates. ]

But, how do I go there? Whenever I look into those rifts I just see my world.

I think we have to do it together, otherwise it won't work.

[He grins.]

Where are you?

I'm outside in the gardens. I can meet you near the rifts if you want! It won't take me very long.

That's perfect! Don't be long, now.

[ True to her word, she doesn't take long at all. He might have even been able to see her half walking and half jogging from the hill even. When she gets there, she's breathing heavily. ]

Okay! I'm here.

Hello there!

[He bounds energetically over.]

Hi! Mister...uh.. [ It suddenly dawns on her that they never actually introduced themselves. Uh-oh. ]

I'm Jade.

[]

[Sirius turns around just then, hoping to catch sight of his best mate James, when who does he see?

The man himself!]

Oi, James! Over here!

[He waves energetically and practically bounds over.]

I've been looking for you, James. I was thinking about showing some people around if they're interested.

[]

...Sounds like a good plan, Sirius.

[]

[Sirius is too busy being over the moon at getting to see Hogwarts again that he doesn't pick up on any differences. As far as he's concerned, everything is normal and fine.

Except for that slight delay in James's response.]

It is, isn't it? Now we get to show everyone how great it is where we come from.

[Sirius keeps grinning, because this is a brilliant opportunity that should be taken full advantage of. He pokes James with his elbow.]

So, what's going on, mate? You seem a bit off.

[]

I...Nothing. I'm fine.

[]

[Sirius's eyes go wide when his elbow passes right through.]

James? Do you have a little something you want to tell me?

...No. Nothing that you probably haven't deduced yourself.

[]

I'm not the James you know.

You're right. I knew something was off, but I wanted to be sure in case it was just the mansion being its usual tricky self.

Who are you, then?

[]

I'm his Mirror. Have you heard of us before?

I may have heard some blokes talking, but I've never spoken to one before.

[Yes, he's excited by this.]

So you're James too but just a bit different?
